BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — A 16-year-old boy who was pulled unconscious from the Muskegon River after a weekend tubing accident has died.

The teen was taking part in an outing in Big Rapids with young people from the Muslim Community of Western Suburbs on Saturday afternoon.

Big Rapids Public Safety Director Andrea Nerbonne says group members were tubing in the river behind Big Rapids Middle School about 4:30 p.m. Saturday when the teen fell from his tube.
