State fines 2 Ohio casinos over surveillance cameras

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio’s casino regulators have levied fines against the Horseshoe Casinos in Cleveland and Cincinnati.

The state board today said the fines centered on how the casinos run their surveillance camera systems and other operational issues.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission issued a $125,000 fine against the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati. The board said the casino also authorized credit extensions beyond what was allowed.

The Cleveland casino was hit with a $50,000 over its surveillance operations and for opening four table games without the proper approval.

The commission says both casinos didn’t fix the surveillance issues for months after the problems were found.

Both casinos are owned by Rock Ohio Caesars. A message seeking comment was left with the company today.
