This season Idol introduced the nation to Bowling Green’s Angela Cheslock, aka Noodle Girl.
Cheslock, a 2008 graduate of Bowling Green High School, lived up to her nickname and showed off her skill of sucking a spaghetti noodle through a nostril and pulling it out of her mouth to millions of viewers tuning in to Wednesday night’s show. But that was about as much screen time as the 19-year-old received, after she failed to move on beyond Idol’s Hollywood round of group competition.
Her group performed Grand Funk Railroad’s version of “Some Kind of Wonderful” as Steven Tyler, the Aerosmith frontman and new Idol judge, sat in their midst. Tyler clearly enjoyed the attention, but the other two judges, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, weren’t impressed, and she was bounced.
Fox’s American Idol can be seen locally Wednesday and Thursday nights on WUPW-TV, Channel 36.
