EL PASO Toledo fell hard to the University of Texas at El Paso tonight, losing 92-71 in the consolation finals of the State Farm Sun Bowl Tournament.
The Rockets were plagued by 27 turnoververs, which turned into 39 points for the Miners.
UTEP led 51-38 at halftime and by as many as 35 points at 91-56 in the final five minutes before Toledo finished with a 15-1 run to end the game.
Justin Ingram topped the Rockets with 24 points, including a career-high six 3-pointers.
Ridley Johnson pulled down a career-high nine rebounds to go with his nine points.
