Kevin Lynch scored a power-play goal with less than five minutes left in the third period, but his goal couldn't help propel a late-game rally for the Toledo Walleye in a 4-2 loss to Elmira tonight at the Huntington Center.

Toledo took a 1-0 lead at 2:37 of the first period when Bobby Shea one-timed Kyle Rogers’ feed from behind the net past Elmira goalie Neil Conway (38 saves).

Harry Young tied the game at 1-1 at 12:12 of the first and with less than three minutes left in the second, Patch Alber gave Elmira a 2-1 lead.

Dane Walters gave Elmira a 3-1 lead at 12:57 of the third and Lynch scored at 15:35 of the third to cut the lead to 3-2. Mike Vaskivuo scored an empty-net goal for Elmira with 7.3 seconds left in the third.

Mac Carruth made 35 saves for Toledo, while Conway made 38 saves for Elmira.

Toledo plays at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday at Cincinnati.
