BGSU expected to name new football coach

BOWLING GREEN — After a two-week period of uncertainty, Bowling Green State University’s football program has a new leader.
Dave Clawson, who twice was named the coach of the year in the Football Championship Subdivision, will be announced as BG’s 17th head coach at a news conference today, The Blade has learned Thursday night.
Clawson, 41, has a record of 58-49 between stints at Fordham and Richmond. He served as Tennessee’s offensive coordinator this year but was not retained by new head coach Lane Kiffin.
Terms of Clawson’s contract are not yet known.
