Public utilities office to expand call-center hours


The Toledo Department of Public Utilities has extended the hours for its customer service call center and plans to hire additional staff to reduce callers’ wait times.

Starting today, the call center operates from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and calls received but placed on hold before 6 p.m. will be answered after 6 p.m. if necessary. The city is hiring eight new representatives to handle customer inquiries, according to a department statement.

The department’s walk-in hours remain the same, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, hours during which customers also may email the department at dpu-customerservice@tole-do.oh.gov with service inquiries.
