The local NBC television affiliate is back on Buckeye CableSystem after almost seven months.
WNWO, Channel 24, returned to the cable lineup after a settlement was reached today between its parent company, Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., and Block Communications Inc., which owns Buckeye CableSystem.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Sinclair ordered Buckeye CableSystem to quit retransmitting the NBC affiliate when the previous retransmission contract expired in mid-December.
A statement released by the cable company today said Buckeye and Sinclair reached a two-year agreement. Both parties also agreed to withdraw the complaints they had filed against each other with the FCC.
“I am pleased to welcome WNWO back to Buckeye, the area’s number one television service provider,” said Jeff Abbas, Buckeye’s president and general manager.
The Blade is also owned by Block Communications.
