LIMA, O. - A Lima man who belonged to a road survey crew was killed yesterday when he was struck by a pickup truck on Slabtown Road at Miller Road in Allen County's Monroe Township, authorities said.
Glen Martz, 63, apparently was standing in the middle of the intersection about 2:15 p.m. when he was struck by a pickup driven by Charles Stannard, 53, of Lakeview, O., troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol's Lima post, said.
Mr. Martz, who was wearing a bright orange vest at the time of the accident, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, troopers said.
Mr. Stannard, who had no passengers, was treated at Lima Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
No citations were issued. The accident remains under investigation.
