Driver, passenger hurt in Findlay van crash

FINDLAY - A Findlay motorist has been cited for several driving related offenses after causing a single-vehicle accident that critically injured his passenger, police said.

Chad Brooks, 20, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license, failure to control his vehicle, and failure to wear a seatbelt, the Ohio Highway Patrol said. His passenger, Brian Kauffman, 22, of Findlay was listed in critical condition in Medical College of Ohio Hospitals, Toledo.

The Findlay post said Mr. Brooks was driving west on Lima Avenue about 10:30 Monday night when he lost control and the minivan struck a highway divider. He was ejected from the vehicle, but was not seriously injured.
