2 cups rice
3 cups water
1/2 cup oil or butter
1/2 cup very fine noodles or vermicelli (optional)
Salt to taste
1/2 pound ground lamb or beef, cooked
1/2 cup pine seeds or almond slivers, sauteed
Saute noodles with oil until golden. Add rice, salt, and water. Bring to a boil. Immediately lower heat to a minimum. Leave alone until rice is cooked. Stir and serve.
For optional meat and pine/almond seeds: Cook meat and add pine/almond seeds to saute and cook. Top platter of rice with meat and pine seed combination.
Yield: 8 to 10 servings
