Communities get funds for recycling projects
BOWLING GREEN — Wood County commissioners have appropriated money to a variety of municipalities and entities to enhance and promote recycling and solid waste management.
Northwood will receive $90,000 to rebuild East Broad|way between Wales Road east and Wales Road west. Last year, the commissioners authorized spending $100,000 to rebuild another section of East Broadway, which is the main access route to the Evergreen Landfill.
Other agreements include $25,000 for labor expenses connected to recycling at the Bowl|ing Green Recycling Center; $15,000 for North Baltimore to repave the parking area and driveway of the village's recycling drop-off site; $5,000 to the city of Perrysburg to buy curb|side recycling containers, and $2,420.50 for the village of Wal|bridge to buy a wood chipper.
