Holiday closings

City offices, Lucas County offices, and the administrative offices of Maumee, Northwood, Oregon, Perrysburg, Rossford, and Sylvania will be closed today and tomorrow to celebrate Thanksgiving. Oregon municipal court and Ottawa Hills offices will be closed today only.

State and federal offices will be closed today. Call for hours tomorrow. Auto title offices will be closed today and tomorrow.

The holiday status of some services and businesses follows.


All banks, financial institutions, and banking centers will be closed today, including the Fifth Third Bank Mart locations in Kroger stores and Sky Bank's center in Westfield Shoppingtown at Franklin Park Mall.

Shopping centers will be closed today; most will open extended hours over the weekend. Individual stores may have separate hours.


Toledo and Lucas County public and parochial schools will be closed today and tomorrow.

The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, Lourdes College, Davis College, and Owens Community College will have no classes today through the weekend.

The Medical College of Ohio will have no classes today or tomorrow.

Public utilities

Toledo Edison office and phone service and the Columbia Gas phone center will be closed today and tomorrow. Emergency services only will be available.


The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library and branches will be closed today and will reopen tomorrow.

Mail service

There will be no mail delivery today, no collection of mail in the city, and no window services at the Main Post Office or any of the classified stations or branches.

Express Mail Service will be available from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit will be closed.

Bus service

Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority buses will operate on a holiday schedule today and a regular no-school schedule tomorrow.

Trash pickup

Trash pickup today and tomorrow will be delayed one day each in Toledo and outlying areas.


Meter parking downtown will be free today only.
