EAST TOLEDO

SENIOR

ACTIVITIES CENTER

Navarre Park shelter house

1001 White St.

Activities include Bingo, fitness, ceramics, painting, computer classes, line-dancing, volleyball and shuffleboard, shopping trips, sewing and crafts, movie days, and various theme parties.

Daily lunch program; reservations due by 11 a.m. the day before.

March 19: Spring craft show and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Navarre Park shelter house at 1001 White St. Homemade crafts.

Mondays: ceramic class at 9:30 a.m. at $2 per class. Take your own greenware; paints provided.

Tuesdays: free knitting and crocheting class at 9:30 a.m.

First Wednesday: blood pressure screenings at 11:15 a.m.

Second Wednesday: craft class from 6:30 to 8 p.m., $5 per class. Schedule, register: 419-691-1429, ext. 111.

Outreach services: seniors who need help to fill out insurance or other forms, or who need house keeping or snow removal services, please call Joyce at the center, 419-691-2254.

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church

Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays with hot lunch served at noon at the church, followed by a program. Reservations due by 9 a.m. the day before, 419-862-3874.

Tuesdays: Line dancing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Elmore Community building, 319 Toledo St.

Today: Lawrence Welk day. Tuna patty meal.

Tuesday: March Madness bingo. Oven fried chicken lunch.

March 17: Irish songs. Corned beef and cabbage and potatoes.

March 22: Make an Easter bonnet or decorate an Easter egg. Herb pork loin lunch.

March 24: Golden Oldies variety show and birthday celebrations. Beef pot roast.

March 29: Blood pressure checks. Greek chicken and spinach rice lunch.

March 31: April Fool's day celebration; dress foolishly. Sausage gravy and biscuit lunch.

Computer classes, ages 55 and older through Computer Sight, a program using adaptive equipment such as large-screen monitors and magnifiers. Courses are for first-time users and those needing word processing, e-mail, and beginning spreadsheet instruction. Each four-hour course is $60.
