Construction workers begin dismantling the Plexiglas center court tower at Westfield Shoppingtown Franklin Park. The structure, made up of more than 300 pieces of Plexiglas along with its frame, is part of the original design of the mall, which opened in July, 1971. It is being taken down as part of the $117 million renovation of the mall and will be replaced by an upgraded, more efficient pyramid-shaped skylight, mall offi cials said.
