Oregon driver hurt when SUV hits train
An Oregon man was hurt yesterday when his sport utility vehicle hit a train and was dragged about 30 feet along the tracks and through a fence at the BP refinery off Otter Creek Road.
Jesse Heinz, 21, of 1952 Lagundovie Rd., was admitted to Toledo Hospital in fair condition.
Mr. Heinz appeared to be exceeding the 35-mph speed limit about 2 a.m. as he was southbound on Otter Creek approaching the grade crossing just north of Cedar Point Road, Oregon police said. He did not brake before he hit the train.
Mr. Heinz was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence and driving across a grade crossing, police said.
