Dills family wins new Cherokee

Matthew and Susan Dills, of Perrysburg, whose son Matthew is a freshman at St. Francis, receive the title and keys to a brand new 2014 Jeep Cherokee Sport from Fr. Ronald Olszewski, president of St. Francis de Sales High School. She won school's car raffle that benefits the tuition assistance program for students at the school. The Jeep was purchased at Charlie’s Dodge and made possible through a gift of the Richard M. Barchick Family.

Third Annual Domestic Violence Event at Herbally Radiant

October is the National Domestic Violence Awareness month and Herbally Radiant once again hosted a successful annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event on 17th October 2014. The subject discussed was “What is a Healthy Relationship?” The event was led by Lt. Andrea Luna of Lucas County Sheriff’s Office. She discussed various impacts domestic violence has to our community. Respect, communication, boundaries, kindness, and the willingness to listen are the key points towards a healthy relationship.


Northview boys soccer undefeated

The Northview boys soccer team won the NLL and finished the season with a 13-0-2 record. They set a new school record only allowing 4 goals to be scored on them all season and scoring 45 goals. They won their first post season tournament game 7-0 over Whitmer and move on to play St. Johns on Oct. 21. Seniors on the team include: Brandon Osborn, Andrew Klien, Chris McElfresh (Team Manager), Jake Mason, Zack Liber, Matt Bules, Ben Haselhuhn, and Micheal Condon.

Doug Wickard and Ralph Wolfe, 83, are on a mission to save the Virginia Theatre in downtown North Baltimore. Through a letter campaign, the pair are attempting to raise the $40,000 needed to switch from the Virginia's old film to a new digital projector. Sylvania Fall Festival

The Fall Festival in Sylvania was held on Sunday, October 19, 2014, beginning with the unveiling of the "Eddie Boggs Square" signpost. Boggs was a teacher in the local schools as well as a professional musician. The festival also featured a parade, a costume contest and fun activities for children. Garrison Ghost Walk returns to Fort Meigs
