    The 11th Annual National Ride of Silence at the University of Toledo's main campus in West Toledo set of M Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Riding in silence and escorted by police, the route ran about eight miles though high visible areas of West Toledo and lasted around an hour.     The Sylvania Library hosted a party for the Golden Retriever Club on Monday night to celebrate the last session of the Sit! Stay! Read. program. During the program, kids are able to practice their reading to therapy dogs. Sit! Stay! Read! will start up again July 9th and run until August 13th - every Wednesday from 7-8pm.

    Rocketry launches education in Sylvania

    A rocket rematch was held between the Northview junior and senior teams of rocket engineering students Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Timberstone Junior High in Sylvania. The groups designed, built and tested their rocketry project, eventually competing against 715 teams for the juniors to place third in the Nation. On Tuesday, the two groups fired off their respective rockets in two heats to see whose would fulfill the contest parameters the best. The second launch from the junior team ended with their rocket landing in the water, making the seniors, with their height of 829 feet and airborne count of 53.3 seconds, the victors.     The Unmarked Graves

    Photos of the 7th Annual Veteran's Memorial Program on Saturday, May 17, 2014, in the former Toledo State Hospital Cemetery behind Bowsher High School in South Toledo. Now the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, the former State Hospital buried 906 people in the cemetery between 1888 and 1922. Many of the graves are unmarked or sunken, with only 206 identified. Put on by the Toledo State Hospital Cemetery Reclamation Project, the event included local military speakers, guest speaker Dr. Mychail Scheramic, CEO of the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, and the formal presentation of a bench and memorial by Eagle Scout Ian Vogt, 17.
