City kicks off reading program
The second season of the City of Toledo summer reading program, sponsored by the city's Youth Commission, has begun at five city parks.
The free program for children ages 5 to 12, takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays through July 31 at Gunckel Park, 740 Collingwood Blvd.; Jamie Farr Park, 2140 Summit St.; the Rev. H.V. Savage Park, Vance Street and City Park Avenue; Smith Park, 910 Dorr St.; and Walbridge Park, 2801 Broadway.
Children who take part in the reading program will receive a snack during the day.
