The U.S. Senate has voted 89-0 to approve the nomination of Seneca County native Renee Bumb to sit on the U.S. District Court bench in Camden, N.J.

Ms. Bumb, a 1978 graduate of Seneca East High School and a federal prosecutor since 1992, heads the U.S. attorney's Camden office.

She specializes in public corruption trials and prosecuted former Camden Mayor Milton Milan, who was convicted in 2000 of having ties to organized crime and a Camden drug dealer.

Ms. Bumb is a graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Chicago graduate school of international relations.

She received her law degree from the Rutgers University law school in Newark, N.J.

Ms. Bumb was part of a four-person group that President Bush nominated in January.
