Giving pets a helping hand

The Church of St. Andrew's youth group, in creating a "bridge between youth and poverty", is hosting a "Pets in Poverty" event to benefit the Humane Ohio Pet Food Bank at the church in Toledo, Ohio on September 12, 2010. The food bank, which accepts food for pets from dogs to frogs, as well as toys and blankets, is open on Mondays from 10-1 for eligible persons with a pet.  FYI: The Toledo Humane Society is holding a "Tail end of Summer" adoption promotion through September 22, in which adopters need pay only $22 for the adoption fee.
