Toledo, state, and federal offices will be closed Friday, as will most Lucas County offices, in observance of Veterans Day. Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle deputy registrar sites across the state will also be closed.
Sylvania, Perrysburg, Maumee, Sylvania Township, Rossford, and Oregon city offices also will be closed.
A list of select businesses and services, and whether they will be open on Veterans Day, follows:
All parochial elementary and high schools will be open. Because of parent-teacher conferences for younger students, only high school students in the Toledo Public Schools will be in class.
Offices will be closed and no classes will be held at the University of Toledo, University of Toledo Medical Center, and Bowling Green State University. Owens Community College, and Lourdes University will have classes.
Malls and shopping centers will be open regular hours.
Toledo’s Department of Public Utilities will be closed. Emergency services are available. Columbia Gas and Toledo Edison and its parent company, FirstEnergy, will be open.
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library and branches will be open.
Post offices are closed; mail will not be delivered.
Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority buses will operate on a regular schedule.
There will be regular trash pickup for Toledo residents; collection services in other communities vary.
Meter parking in downtown Toledo will be free.
