Ruling: Maumee man who died set fire intentionally

The Lucas County Coroner's Office has ruled that a Maumee man who died in a March fire at a Springfield Township condo complex that also killed a second person set the fire intentionally.

The office ruled that Robert McGhee, 61, of Maumee, set the blaze at Hidden Cedars Condominiums that also killed Olandia Dixon, 58, of Maumee, and left about 35 people homeless on March 26.

Mr. McGhee's death was ruled a suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning and Ms. Dixon's death a homicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Springfield Township Fire Department Chief Barry Cousino said an investigation is ongoing.
