Thanksgiving holiday schedule

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, Toledo, Lucas County, state, and federal government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, as will Oregon, Maumee, Sylvania, and Perrysburg city offices. Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles deputy registar sites across the state will be closed Thanksgiving Day only.

A list of select businesses and services follows:


Toledo Public and surrounding area schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Owens Community College’s Perrysburg Township and Findlay-area campuses as well as Arrowhead Park Learning Center in Maumee and the Learning Center at The Source in downtown Toledo will be closed Wednesday through Sunday.

The University of Toledo will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Public utilities

Toledo’s Department of Public Utilities will be closed Thursday and Friday along with Toledo Edison and its parent company, FirstEnergy, and Columbia Gas. Emergency service are available for Toledo Edison and Columbia Gas customers.

Retail centers

Westfield Franklin Park, Levis Commons, and the Shops at Fallen Timbers will be closed Thursday and will reopen Friday.

Trash pickup

City of Toledo refuse collection will be delayed one day; collection services in other communities vary.


Toledo-Lucas County Public Libraries will close at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Mail service

Post offices are closed Thursday; no mail delivery.

Bus service

Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority buses will operate on a holiday schedule Thursday.


Meter parking in downtown Toledo will be free Thanksgiving Day and Friday.
