Closings for Christmas Eve and Christmas

In observance of the Christmas holiday, most Toledo, county, state and federal government offices will be closed or on a half day today and all day Wednesday; city offices in Perrysburg, and Sylvania also will be closed; Oregon courts will be open until noon today and city offices closed all day today and Wednesday. Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle deputy registrar sites across the state will close at noon today and be closed on Christmas.

A list of select businesses and services follows:

Public utilities

Toledo’s Department of Public Utilities will be closed today and Wednesday as will Toledo Edison and its parent company, FirstEnergy. Columbia Gas will be closed Christmas day only. Emergency services will be available for all public utilities.

Retail centers

Franklin Park Mall and The Mall at Fallen Timbers will be open today from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed Christmas Day. Levis Commons will be open today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed Wednesday.

Libraries

The main Toledo-Lucas County Public Library downtown and all of its branches will be closed today and Christmas Day.

Trash pickup

Refuse collection will be delayed one day for Toledo residents for pickups scheduled Wednesday through Friday; collection services in other communities vary.

Mail services

Post offices are closed Christmas Day; mail will not be delivered.

Bus service

Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority buses will operate on a holiday schedule Christmas Day only.

Parking

Meter parking in downtown Toledo is free Christmas Day.
