Humane society seeks to boost cat adoptions

The Toledo Area Humane Society will offer a special cat adoption promotion this week in conjunction with National Friendship Day.

Beginning Thursday and running through Sunday, all adult felines can be adopted for $10 and kittens for $20. The organization’s “Better in Pairs” discount will still apply, so adoption fees for a second cat or kitten adopted at the same time will be half off.

The organization will also give out $10 gift certificates to its ReTail Shop for each completed adoption during this time. Animals adopted from the shelter have been spayed or neutered, have received age-appropriate vaccines, and are microchipped.

More cats and kittens will be available at off-site locations: at the 2036 S. Byrne Rd. thrift store in Toledo, at Petco in Bowling Green, and at PetSmart in Rossford.

The main shelter is at 1920 Indian Wood Circle in Maumee. Available animals can also be viewed online at toledohumane.org.
