Free books available for preschool children

The United Way of Greater Toledo is offering free books to area preschool children to enhance reading skills before entering kindergarten.

The books are available for free to children who live in the following ZIP codes: 43604, 43605, 43606, 43607, 43608, 43609, 43610, and 43620.

Once enrolled in the program, children will receive one age-appropriate book per month until their fifth birthday.

The program is sponsored by the Women’s Initiative of the United Way in collaboration with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The United Way will also hold training sessions at the United Way, 424 Jackson St. downtown, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and also on Sept. 3. An additional session will be conducted at noon Sept. 3.
