Oregon OK’s rail crossing lights
Oregon City Council last week followed the recommendation of its drainage, roads, buildings, and lands committee and approved spending $50,000 for advance notification lights on Otter Creek Road at Millard Avenue and Corduroy Road that would activate when the Norfolk Southern crossing between the two streets is blocked.

Oregon parks committee meets today
Councilman Terry Reeves has called a meeting of the parks and recreation committee for 6:30 p.m. today in the council chamber. The panel will seek input on the distribution of revenue from the senior services levy adopted last year and discuss senior facilities.

Detroit River wildlife refuge grows
The Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge is gaining 28.8 acres of wooded wetlands and uplands in Frenchtown Township. The property was purchased from the Newport Beach Marina Corp. for inclusion in the refuge, according to the office of U.S. Rep. John Dingell (D., Dearborn).

County roads close for repairs
Wilkins Road will become the latest of several Lucas County roads to undergo repair of its bridge over the Ohio Turnpike after it closes today.
