Family Dollar to cut jobs, close stores
MATTHEWS, N.C.  — Family Dollar plans to cut some jobs and close about 370 underperforming stores as it tries to reverse sagging sales and earnings. The discount store operator will also lower prices on about 1,000 basic items.

Pedestrian hurt seriously by hit-skip driver
SWANTON — Troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Toledo post are investigating a hit-skip crash that injured a pedestrian. Haylee Michelle Brandt, 30, of Swanton was in serious condition Thursday in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.
