Port proposes repainting cranes
Two industrial cranes that have carried the nicknames “Big Lucas” and “Little Lucas” for decades are in line for repainting if the project does not run afoul of the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority’s minority contracting goals. Saying that rusty cranes send the wrong message for a port trying to compete internationally, the port authority board of directors agreed Thursday to have the two heavy lifters on the city’s waterfront repainted.
