Seizure forces Minnesota coach Jerry Kill to miss today's game at Michigan

BLADE STAFF

ANN ARBOR - Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill suffered a seizure this morning and will not coach this afternoon when the Golden Gophers face Minnesota at Michigan Stadium.

In a statement released this afternoon, the Minnesota athletic department said Kill, who has epilepsy, did not travel to Michigan.

"Coach Kill was not feeling well on Friday morning and decided to meet the team in Ann Arbor on Saturday," the statement read. "He then suffered a seizure on Saturday morning and will remain at home in Minnesota for today's game."

Golden Gophers defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys will serve as Minnesota's acting head coach today, and will work from the press box at Michigan Stadium.

This is the second reported seizure Kill has suffered this season. Kill suffered a seizure at halftime of Minnesota's 29-12 win Sept. 14 over Western Illinois in Minneapolis.
