BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University freshman goaltender Tomas Sholl has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the week.

The native of Hermosa Beach, Calif., backstopped the Falcons to a win over Roberts Morris in the Three Rivers Classic tournament in Pittsburgh on Saturday. Sholl turned aside 19 of 21 shots and held the Colonials scoreless before giving up a power-play goal and sixth-attacker goal late in the contest.

For the season Sholl is 3-7-0 with a 2.58 goals-against average and a 89.9 save percentage in 10 games.

The Falcons return to WCHA action with a pair of games at Alabama-Huntsville Friday and Saturday nights.
