Sapna Gupta, a senior from Toledo, plans to major in chemistry and study for a degree in dentistry. Her favorite subjects are chemistry and Latin, and she has a 4.5 grade-point average.

A National Merit semifinalist, Sapna is a national finalist in the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad, a silver medalist in the National Latin Examination, and a recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Science Award. She plays first singles on the Notre Dame junior varsity tennis team, is a member of the Current Events Club, and has played piano for 12 years. Sapna also volunteers at the Flower Hospital gift shop.

"Sapna is one of the best students of my career," said Jackie Konwinski, the advanced placement teacher for U.S. history and government. "She is a true intellectual who excels in sciences and enjoys history, literature, and the arts."

Sapna is the daughter of Kul and Manju Gupta.
