NASCAR announced its 2015 Sprint Cup race start times today, and the August Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway will start at a non-traditional time.
The Pure Michigan 400 is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16, after starting last year at 1 p.m. An MIS spokesperson said today that the 2:30 p.m. start time is due to NBC having contractual programming obligations prior to securing NASCAR broadcasting rights. NBC Sports Network will broadcast the August race at MIS.
The Quicken Loans 400 is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 14, and Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the June race.
