Game review: Burnout 3: Takedown

Game review: Burnout 3: Takedown

If you watch the typical American boy play with his toy cars you're bound to see a fender bender or two. Or maybe more like a pileup.

And as adults we safely make our way back and forth to work - obeying all the traffic signals and driving defensively along the way.

It all ends now.

How much do I love the new Burnout which rewards players for driving on the wrong side of the road, bumping other racers into telephone poles and causing major crash damage at busy intersections? It's my new favorite game and I find myself firing it up and living dangerously every chance I get.

One of the cooler Takedown features is when another driver causes you to crash, you can slow down time and steer your crashing vehicle into the path of other oncoming racers - always good for some fresh twisted metal.

The feeling of speed in this title is amazing and the world screams by in a blur as you blast your car into winning position. The intelligence of the computer opponents has also been greatly increased to really give a multiplayer challenge and feel to Burnout -even when playing alone. Lots of bullies on this hi-octane freeway.

Bottom line: Takedown is a third heaping scoop of the same racing goodness that Burnout fans have come to expect the best arcade racer on the market and a must have.
