Game review: The Getaway: Black Monday

Game review: The Getaway: Black Monday

In trying to describe the sequel to Getaway I can only conjure up the image of the thick-bellied trophy bass that snaps the line just as you pull it to shore. All of the elements for a great game are there - immersive storyline from the criminal underbelly of London, excellent voice-acting and high action (especially the car chase scenes) - Grand Theft with a british accent. But the bottomline is that the gameplay and frustrating controls just didn't pan out for me. One might argue that the game only has a high difficulty which adds to the replay value but for me it was a big one that got away.
