Defenseman O'Neill released from player tryout agreement with Providence Bruins

Toledo, OH – Defenseman Wes O’Neill has been released from his player tryout agreement with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League and is returning to the Toledo Walleye.

O’Neill skated in a pair of games in Providence, scoring a goal. In his first season with the Walleye, the 26 year old native of Windsor, Ontario has collected 10 goals and 10 assists in 37 games. O’Neill has now skated in 194 AHL games between Providence, Lake Erie and Bridgeport, while also appearing in 5 NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche.

The Toledo Walleye return home on January 25 to host the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:05 p.m.
