Vivek Ratnam, a senior from Toledo, includes academia and basic research in his future plans. His favorite subjects are biology and multivariable calculus and he has a 4.778 grade-point average.
Vivek is a finalist in the Siemens Regional Competition, member of the scientific research and debate teams, and a volunteer technician in the biochemistry lab. He also plays varsity tennis.
"Vivek is extremely intelligent and has learned to use this to make the world in which he lives [in this case, the classroom], a better place," said Penny Cobau, science teacher.
He is the son of Manohar and Shobha Ratnam.
