Roshni Parikh
Southview High School
Roshni Parikh, a senior from Toledo, plans to major in chemistry with a minor in business and hopes to eventually attend dental school and become an orthodontist. She is considering Miami University, the University of Michigan, or Northwestern University. She has a 4.6 grade-point average and enjoys chemistry and calculus.
A recipient of the National Forensics League Degree of Distinction, Roshni has also earned the Math Excellence Award. She was Southview's 2007 homecoming queen, Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month, and a state qualifier for the debate competition. Roshni, a member of both the varsity softball and tennis teams, achieved All-NLL honorable mention in both sports.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Speech and Debate club, Interact Volunteer Club, the Spanish Club, and the P.E.A.C.E. Club.
Roshni is a member of the Toledo Children's Hospital Youth Leadership Council and is actively involved in the Hindu Temple Youth Group. She also volunteers for the Crosby Arts Festival.
"Roshni is a young woman who possesses many diverse talents, a strong work ethic, and a superior level of personal responsibility," said Paul Moffitt, an English teacher and debate coach.
Roshni is the daughter of Parag and Shilpa Parikh.
