Four developers shortlisted to redevelop Toledo's Spitzer, Nicholas buildings

The Lucas County Land Bank said Thursday that four developers have been formally shortlisted to redevelop the Spitzer and Nicholas buildings in downtown Toledo.

Eight development teams submitted initial proposals. The four finalists will be invited to submit comprehensive pitches for how they would transform the empty buildings at the corner of Madison Avenue and Huron Street. All are expected to propose turning the former office buildings into housing with commercial spaces on the first two floors.

The four shortlisted developers are: Great Lakes Capital, of South Bend, Ind.; J. Jeffers & Co., of Milwaukee, Wis.; The Model Group of Cincinnati and ARK Restoration of Toledo; and RKP Group of Lansing, Mich.
