A new KFC is set to open in place of the former building that was demolished after sustaining major damage from a kitchen fire in June, 2021.

KBP Brands, a Quick Service Restaurant franchisee, announced its newly rebuilt Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant at 1010 Conant St in Maumee is scheduled to have its grand reopen at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

The first 50 guests in the restaurant on opening day will receive a “Free Chicken for a Year” gift card to use throughout the year.

The company said previous employees who were relocated to a KFC in Holland are to return as the opening team.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will officially open the restaurant for business.
