The Ohio Department of Development wants to hear from people in northwest Ohio about what it can do to make the best use of the $249 million it has received from the federal government for residential energy-efficiency projects.
A webinar about the program will be held Thursday at 6 p.m.
An in-person session about the Ohio Home Energy Savings Program is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 24 in Bowling Green at the Simpson Garden Community Center, 1291 Conneaut Ave.
Another session will be conducted in Toledo at 6 p.m. July 25 at the Mott branch of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library,1010 Dorr St.
The information sessions are intended to be both an opportunity for citizens to learn about rebates for energy-efficiency projects and an opportunity for state officials to find out what questions people have about the program.

The program is composed of two types of rebates:
● Home Efficiency Rebates are available for energy-efficiency retrofits. Up to $2,000 is available for projects that will reduce energy use by individual households 20 percent or more. Up to $4,000 for is available for projects that will reduce consumption by 35 percent or more. Up to $400,000 may be available for the owners of multi-family buildings.
● Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates are available to single- and multi-family households that install high-efficiency home appliances and equipment. Benefits are capped at $14,000 per household, with a $8,000 cap for heat pumps, $1,750 for heat pump water heaters, and $4,000 for panel and service upgrades. Rebates on electric stoves, clothes dryers, and insulation and air sealing are also available.
