On days when you cannot go fishing, try trolling the Internet for a boatload of information on everything from fishing reports to fish biology.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources website, www.dnr.state.oh.us, provides a wealth of details about fishing in the state. The site includes fishing reports from around the state, tips on Lake Erie charters, maps of Ohio's lakes, fish identification, regulations and other information.
Two websites that allow fishermen to share ideas and information with one another are gofishohio.com and ohiofishermen.com. The latter site also provides details on building and repairing fishing tackle, weather forecasts, how to fish for different species, and recipes.
A prime Lake Erie information website is lecba.org. It connects to the Lake Erie Charter Boat Association. Another charter boat site is charternet.com/fishers/ohio.html.
Another comprehensive guide for Lake Erie boating, angling and tourism is located at www.thefiswrapper.com. The site includes fishing and weather reports, among other things.
For information on fishing the Ohio River, surf into theohioriver.com. Other usable sites include walleyecentral.com and travel50.com/ohio/fishing/fishing.htm.

John Lesniewicz, who operates out of Teal Point on the Toussaint River, said his crew yesterday took both walleyes and yellow perch, the latter incidentally but of good size. Walleye were being taken north-northeast of C-Can and north-northeast of Niagara Reef, and below F-Can and G-Can on the Canadian line.
Good perch activity could be found around A-Can, D-Can and Niagara Reef, Lesniewicz said, adding that on the Michigan side, anglers had to hunt for active schools around the E-Buoy for sail racing off Toledo Beach.
Perch also were being taken around the Toledo Harbor Light, said Rick Ferguson at Al Szuch Live Bait on Corduroy Road.
Dave Shunck and Ernie Sandor found limit walleye catches Sunday east and northeast of West Sister Island, trolling with nightcrawler harnesses. Shunck said he also took his 4-year-old son, Kyle, panfishing at the state's Lake LaSuAn chain of lakes in Williams County recently and they caught 9 and 10-inch Fish Ohio-size redears. LaSu An regulations in effect turn to catch-and-release today, with a 9-inch-plus keeper minimun on panfish.
