Calendar: Final days for Parade of Homes

Thirty-two homes, some finished, some in progress, are featured in the Scattered Site Parade of Homes, which continues through Sunday. The homes are open from 5 to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow and 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A map is available at www.toledoblade.com.

The Toledo Opera continues its presentation of The Marriage of Figaro at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Valentine Theatre, 401 North Superior St. The opera will be sung in Italian with projected English translations.

The 45th anniversary of the Sapphire Ball will be celebrated with an Italian wedding theme at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Pinnacle in Maumee. The elegant evening of food, wine, and dancing is a benefit for the Toledo Opera.

Theatre organist Lance Luce performs in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Ohio Theatre, 3114 Lagrange St. The concert, which also features the Black Swamp chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, is a benefit for the preservation of the Mighty Theatre Pipe Organ.

Kent Sheridan returns to Adrian's Croswell Opera House for a special concert at 8 p.m. Saturday. He first appeared at the Croswell in the title role in The Will Rogers Follies and has since appeared in Guys and Dolls, Annie Get Your Gun, and Chicago. Sheridan is also an accomplished country artist. Opening will be local country group Branded.

A Tribute to the King, starring Elvis Presley impersonator Walt Sanders and the Cadillac Band, will be presented at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Ritz Theater, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin.

The JiMiller Band returns Saturday to Howard's Club H on Main Street in Bowling Green, for an all-night all Grateful Dead music for the 18-and older crowd.

A John Lennon Tribute will be held at 9:30 tonight at Mickey Finn's Pub, 602 Lagrange St.

The Toledo Area Poznan Alliance will hold its 15th annual Dozynki Harvest Celebration at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sunrise Park and Banquet Center, 1460 Woodville Rd., Millbury. The event includes a procession and blessing, entertainment by the Echoes of Poland Folk and Dance Ensemble, and an exhibition of authentic regional Polish costumes.

FAIRS AND FESTIVALS

Grand Rapids Applebutter Festival: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in downtown Grand Rapids. Apple-butter making and arts and crafts are scheduled.

Archbold Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Archbold. Scheduled are a parade, a 5K run, entertainment, food, and children's activities.

Homemaking Arts Festival: noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Zoar Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 314 East Indiana Ave., Perrysburg.

Spooktacular Cruise-In and Fall Festival: Saturday in Loop Park at East Perry and Dixon streets, Walbridge. Scheduled are games, hayrides, entertainment, food, a costume contest, a car show, and a vehicle poker run.

Olde Schoolhouse Commons Fall Festival: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the schoolhouse on Secor Road in Lambertville. Wood carvers, spinners, basket weavers, oil painters, beading and gourd decorating are scheduled, as well as quilting, needlework, and other demonstrations.

Oak Harbor Apple Festival: Friday evening through Sunday night in downtown Oak Harbor. Activities include a teen dance, music, entertainment, parades, a tractor pull, and games.

Perrysburg Historical Museum Committee's Heritage Day Festival will be held on the lawn of the Commodore Building from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Put-in-Bay Wine Fest: noon to 7 p.m. Saturday in DeRivera Park on South Bass Island. No one under 21 will be admitted.

10th Annual Autumn Lighthouse Festival: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Marblehead. Homemade foods and arts and crafts vendors will be at the church, and tours of the Marblehead Lighthouse are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Ohio Renaissance Festival continues through Oct. 23 along State Rt. 73 in Harveysburg, Ohio. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. This week's theme is Highland Fling Weekend.
