Recently released inspection reports of Lucas County food-service operations:
Lucas County Youth Center, 225 11th, inspected March 6. Six noncritical violations and one critical: Observed automatic dishwash machine in all four units discharging airborne drain water out of unit faucets/sinks. To prevent the contamination of food, food contact surfaces and food contact utensils, proper drainwater disposal is necessary. Plumbing systems must be maintained properly and in accordance with code. Inspector: Ryan Sekinger.
Amerihost Inn & Suites, 6425 Kit, Maumee, inspected March 7. Three noncritical violations and three critical: Handsoap must be present all handsinks for proper handwashing. The sanitizing step of proper dishwashing is not taking place. To effectively clean dishes a sanitizer must be used in the third compartment. A person in charge must be available at all times. Person must have knowledge of food safety as it pertains to this facility. Inspected Sara Becker.
Elmhurst School, 4530 Elmhurst, inspected March 8. Two noncritical violations and one critical: To prevent potential cross-contamination, unwrapped pears must be protected by a food shell and be stored in individual packaging. Inspector Bruce Heiser.
O.K. Wok, 4011 Secor, inspected March 9. Four noncritical violations, Five noncritical violations and Five critical violations: Found chicken in three-compartment sink. Food may only be prepped in the properly air-gapped food prep sink. Three compartment sink is for dishwashing only. Observed improper thawing of beef at time of inspection. To inhibit growth of bacteria thaw in cooler, or under cold running water in prep sink or cook from frozen state. Set up sanitizer wipe cloth bucket for each food prep area. Wet wiping cloths must be stored in sanitizer when not in use. Observed improper food storage order in coolers at time of inspection. Observed raw chicken stored over cooked rice in walk-in cooler and observed raw eggs stored over cooked chicken in the prep top cooler. Store raw meats and eggs below ready-to-eat foods. All potentially hazardous foods (PHF) must be properly date marked when held more than 24 hours. Inspoector: Kelly Sattler.

Hold all PHF at 41 degrees or less. Food prep sink was to have been installed but is not. Food prep sink must be install within next 30 days. Inspector: Sattler.
Exxon on the Run, 24 South McCord, Springfield Township, inspected March 6. Three noncritical violations and two critical violations: Observed instructions to hold food for 10 days. You may hold perishable foods for only 7 days at 41 degrees. Observed chemical spray bottle on prep table with food. Store all chemicals below or away from food contact surfaces to prevent contamination. Chili at 133 degrees, chili turned up. Inspector: Kistler.
