McCOMB, Ohio - The village swimming pool opened yesterday after repair work delayed its usual Memorial Day start this summer.
Village Administrator Kevin Siferd said kids were lined up to get in when the pool opened at 1 p.m. It is now scheduled to be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week through the end of August, although he said the village may keep the pool open on weekends in September if the weather is warm and if it can get enough lifeguards.
The pool's opening was delayed by two months after workers found its vinyl liner bulging in several places this spring. The liner had to be removed and cracks in the concrete pool repaired before the village could begin filling it with water.
