Mr. Doerfler was driving west on Road H in Blanchard Township about 8:30 a.m. and Mr. Gerten was driving north on Road 7.

The truck and the car collided, forcing the car into a utility pole and a sign before coming to rest, troopers at the patrol's Lima post said.

The intersection is governed by four-way stop signs.

The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
