Cocoon Shelter Volunteer Advocacy Training, 50-hour class that prepares volunteers to attend to the needs of victims of domestic violence by providing crisis intervention and conducting intakes into safe shelter. Crisis Response Team needs committed volunteers to be trained as responders or dispatchers to provide short-term crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence. Foster Grandparent program is looking for senior volunteers to help in schools, day care facilities, Head Start programs, and other non-profit community organizations. Volunteers receive a tax-free stipend for their work and reimbursement for their travel expenses. Training is provided monthly and social activities for the foster grandparents are planned throughout the year.
