Humanitarian and activist Marian Wright Edelman will be the featured speaker for the Authors! Authors! series at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Great Hall of the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. Edleman is the founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund and is credited with many books, such as The Measure of Our Success: A Letter to My Children and Yours. The series is co-sponsored by The Blade and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library.

The Toledo Roadrunners presents the 32nd annual Glass City Marathon with the marathon team relay and 5K race. Events start at 8 a.m. Sunday in front of the Crown Plaza Hotel, 2 Seagate. Special children's races will take place at the same location at 4:30 and 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
National bluegrass recording artists Bo Isaac and the Wheelwrights will perform for the Glass City Opry at 7 p.m. Monday in the Maumee Indoor Theatre, 601 Conant St., Maumee. Opening will be Toledo's Deepwater Bluegrass.
Monroe County Community College presents Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Meyer Theater of the La-Z-Boy Center. Dubbed the "Detroit voice of the 1960s" by Rolling Stone magazine, Ryder will perform high-octane hits such as "Little Latin Lupe Lu" and "Jenny Take a Ride."
