Buckeye notables at the Stranahan

A Meet the Buckeyes Night is scheduled tomorrow in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd. On hand will be coaches Dick Tressell, Bill Conley, Simon Fraser, and Earle Bruce, the OSU cheerleaders and marching band, quarterback Craig Krenzel, writer and historian Jack Park, and OSU basketball all-American and U.S. Olympic team member Katie Smith. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:15 p.m., followed by the program at 8 p.m.

The Passions of Tchaikovsky & Rachmaninoff will be performed by the Toledo Symphony at 8 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday in the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle. Stefan Sanderling conducts the orchestra. William Wolfram will be featured on piano.

Coming Home II: Diamonds, Divas, and Stars, a benefit show featuring songs and memories from a dedicated group of past and present Rep performers, takes place Saturday at the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, 16 Tenth St. A reception begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the performance at 8 p.m.

The WWE SmackDown & ECW presents WrestleMania Revenge at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the SeaGate Centre, 401 Jefferson Ave. The event features the SmackDown Tag Team Match - Undertaker and Batista vs. Edge and the Big Show. Others in the line-up include Finlay, MVP, CM Punk, Chavo Guerrero, Matt Hardy, Mark Henry, Michelle McCool, and Victoria.

The Raise Some Cash Charity Event to benefit the Feed Your Neighbor program run through Augsburg Lutheran Church takes place Saturday at the Blarney Irish Pub & Grill at the corner of Monroe and Huron streets. The Johnny Cash-themed fundraiser features local bands Locoweed, Jim Filipiak, Karri and Todd Anthony, Blues Connoisseurs, The Kirbys, Voodoo Libido, and the Flecks, with each act performing at least one song associated with Cash. Barbara John, a native Toledoan and former Cash employee, will make an appearance. Music starts at 7 p.m.

Toledo Botanical Garden's annual spring plant sale is scheduled today-Saturday at 5403 Elmer Dr. Gardeners can choose from more than 8,000 quality plants including Oak Openings native plants, herbs, roses, vegetables, and hanging baskets. Experts and master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. The sale is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Spring on the Farm/Scout Day takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Sauder Village in Archbold. Guests will experience first-hand what life was like in rural Ohio from 1803 through 1910. All girl and boy scouts will receive free admission with the purchase of an adult admission.

Pop and Christian music icon Amy Grant takes the stage at 7:30

tonight in the Ritz Theatre, 30 South Washington St., Tiffin. Grant's hits include "Baby, Baby," "Lead Me On," and "House of Love" (a duet with husband Vince Gill).

Also at the Ritz is the Nobodies of Comedy Tour at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow. The tour features the "funniest comics you've never heard of": Joe DeVito, David Huntsberger, Jamie Lissow, and Geoff Tate.

Monroe County Community College's Quagmeyer Players present The Fantasticks, the world's longest-running musical, this weekend in Meyer Theatre of the La-Z-Boy Center at the college, 1555 South Raisinville Rd., Monroe. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. A dinner theater is available tomorrow.
